LRS? NormR? Saline? Not sure what bag of IV fluids to grab during an emergency?

Not sure if you should reach for a bottle of lidocaine or procainamide with that run of VPCs?

In this 2-hour VETgirl online veterinary CE webinar, Dr. Garret Pachtinger, DACVECC and Dr. Justine Lee, DACVECC, DABT reviewed common misconceptions of emergency and critical care including evaluating what bag of intravenous fluids to use; evaluating if septic cats look like septic dogs; evaluating if partial parenteral nutrition is difficult to administer in the clinic setting; evaluating if all ventricular premature contractions should be treated with anti-arrhythmics; and more!

Please note: The sound doesn’t match the slides well on this older webinar, so we re-did an updated version of this webinar on January 4, 2023. Please check out that one HERE instead!

  1. Excellent course. Both Dr. Lee and Dr. Pachtinger are great speakers and they present the information and practical manner so it is easy to remember. Love Vetgirl!

    Margaret Little, DVM

  2. Thank you for all this wonderful information to help better myself in practicing Emergency medicine.

  3. Great info, thank you! Not sure if it is just on my end, but the slides are advancing ahead of the spoken topics.

  4. Same for me! Somewhat disappointing for a paid CE service to not be able to follow along with the slides synchronized with the speaking…

  5. Its really hard to learn from this when the slide timing is off sync from the speaker. Showing an entirely different slide the entire time the speak is talking about the slide before

  6. Is there a way to have the timing of the slides corrected? The slide does not match what the speaker is discussing.
