Sophia Farrow

University of Minnesota

My name is Sophia Farrow and I am a third-year veterinary student at the University of Minnesota pursuing a career in mixed animal medicine, specifically with community medicine and accessible veterinary care. I have been working as a technician at the local animal shelter for many years, which has made me very passionate about working with communities in regards to assisting in stray control, vaccination programs, low-cost spay neuter, and offering reduced-cost care to pet owners in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Upon graduation, I plan to pursue a career where I can work with both large and small animals through community medicine-based programs offering rural communities better access to veterinary care.
I grew up on the shores of Lake Superior in Northern Minnesota, and have a love for the active outdoor life alongside my catahoula pup, Marley. You’ll see us hiking, running, and even surfing!

Fun Fact About Me: I host a dog-friendly run club in Minneapolis!
