  1. often due to short staffing one assistant may be handling a large dog that may be more fractious than they can handle, taking a few minutes to wait for an extra set of hands to help will make the exam or procedure go much more smoothly and ensure safety of the patient and team involved

  2. Proper restraint is very critical in order for everyone’s safety. I always have my eyes on the patient rather then what the tech is doing. I verbally communicate with them, but focus on making sure ,y tech is safe.
